By accessing or using the RefinedSelf website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and RefinedSelf.

Description of Services

RefinedSelf provides private psychiatric evaluation and treatment services, specializing in care for finance professionals. Our services include psychiatric assessment, medication management, therapeutic interventions, and the RefinedSelf Protocol. Services are provided by licensed healthcare professionals in accordance with applicable medical standards and regulations.

Not Emergency Services

RefinedSelf is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately. If you are having thoughts of suicide, please contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988 or the Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 741741.

Client Responsibilities

As a client, you agree to:

Provide accurate and complete information about your medical history and current health status
Attend scheduled appointments or provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations
Follow treatment recommendations and communicate openly about your progress
Pay for services in accordance with our fee schedule and payment policies
Treat staff and other clients with respect
Not engage in any illegal activity in connection with our services

Fees and Payment

Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made. Our fee structure is provided during the initial consultation. RefinedSelf operates as an out-of-network provider. We can provide documentation for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement, but we do not guarantee coverage.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice or missed appointments may be subject to a cancellation fee.

Confidentiality

We maintain strict confidentiality of all client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and professional ethical standards. Information will only be disclosed with your written consent or as required by law. Please refer to our Privacy Policy and Notice of Privacy Practices for detailed information about how we protect your information.

Limitations of Treatment

While we strive to provide the highest quality care, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes from treatment. Mental health treatment is a collaborative process, and results depend on many factors including individual circumstances, engagement with the treatment process, and adherence to recommendations. Treatment does not replace the need for ongoing medical care with your primary care physician.

Intellectual Property

All content on the RefinedSelf website, including text, graphics, logos, and the RefinedSelf Protocol methodology, is the property of RefinedSelf and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without our express written permission.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RefinedSelf shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our services or website. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for services in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Termination

Either party may terminate the treatment relationship at any time. If we terminate treatment, we will provide reasonable notice and referrals to alternative providers when clinically appropriate. We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue services for non-payment, violation of these terms, or if continued treatment is not in your best interest.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state in which RefinedSelf is licensed to practice, without regard to conflict of law principles.
